"The off-duty officers would have provided extra security, in uniform, on Black
Friday at an overtime rate. Walmart would have paid the City the officers'
loaded pay rate (wage + payroll taxes + pension and benefits costs that are
calculated based on their rate of pay). The officers were to be off duty anyway,
so there would be no loss of coverage in the rest of the City, and Walmart would
cover the entire cost. Now, the sheriffs will provide that coverage and their
officers will have the extra holiday cash...not ours.
They like to talk
about ways to keep the police on the force in Salisbury, well here was one way
and they totally blew it.
Maybe Debbie can write them a check to buy
gifts for their families on PAC14 next Monday and make a big show of it like she
did with her pittance of a donation when they opened the K9/Mounted
patrol/scholarship fund. RIGHT!"

Tim Spies Has A Court Date For His Run Down Property
Well Well Well, I'm sorry but wasn't one of Tim Spies campaign pledges to go after blighted properties? I guess like the rest of his buddies on Council rules don't apply to him but just those nasty rental units right Tim? People should be outraged at this as its the do as I say but not as I do mentality from this Council. Fix your crap hole up Tim and I hope you get a huge fine, actually I think you have a friend that has had to go to court for similar issues with a piece of property in the City so why don't you get some advice on what kind of fine your looking at.
Council Vindictiveness Over Public Safety
Here we go again, the City Council won't approve a MOU because a political opponent Muir Boda was involved. The City did not require anything from the Centre at Salisbury extra but because Muir Boda was involved it was a big no. I hope the Salisbury City Police Officers who lost out on this overtime for the holidays remember this in the future. When will this madness stop.

FOOD FIGHT!!!
So there was an epic food fight at Wi Senior Monday which caused some injuries to staff and students. I can just envision those animal house food fights with handfuls of mac and cheese being tossed across the room. I did feel sorry for the custodial staff to have to clean that crap up, they should have made the students do it.
Jim Ireton calls Debbie and Terry out
I had to applaud Jim Ireton this morning for once again pointing out exactly what is going on with Debbie and Terry's little word play and lip service they give the newspaper on what their intentions are. Terry Cohen wants to be the Mayor of Salisbury obviously since she wants to write every single paper and run every single study herself. The current one for Terry is of course the redistricting which she is obviously going to be opposed to since it would cut her power off. Terry wants to run her own study on how it should be done if at all as a way to delay doing anything for fear of that mentioned loss of power for Camden.
Debbie Campbell who is always touting being this champion of affordable housing who has never helped any families in Salisbury get any, and in fact has fought it at every turn was also called out for Jim for that very reason. It is clear they still have paybacks in mind and will do nothing to help the City if it doesn't benefit them or their neighborhood. For you Debbie and Terry and Tim supporters let me ask you a plain and simple question.
You complained about Barrie Tilghman, Gary Comegys, Mike Dunn and Louise Smith for years screaming at the top of your lungs how terrible they were for Salisbury, but now your ok with your group doing it now because paybacks are a bitch? is that the way you view things for a City? we have power now watch how we will get you back? This is not for individual personalities this is for every person in this City and if your side is going to become what you fought to get rid of how is that benefiting anyone? Running our City into the ground and making us the laughing stock of Maryland is not something any of us should be proud of.
Dover Air Force Base Sickening Story
I don't usually cover anything to do with Dover, but I couldn't help chiming in on this disgusting story of the mismanaged bodies that is hitting the news this week. A dead marines arm sawed off so it would fit in his uniform, I can think of no greater and ultimate disgrace than that for a service member who lost their life serving our Country. They lost body parts of other Service members and I am just disgusted by the entire episode. The men and women that come into DAFB should be honored and revered for giving the ultimate sacrifice for our country and yet some were treated like household trash items.
