The Wicomico County Republican Club is in the process of doing the impossible which is replacing Bob Caldwell on the County Council. Who would you like to see step up and serve the remainder of Bob's Term

The Maryland Occupational Safety and Health board should come down on D.W. Burt Construction with all the power they have. I am sick of hearing the whining about the unfair fines and inspections these people have to go through and stupid Mike McDermott with his defending these businesses who are fined for infractions. This is about the safety of the workers and is above all party politics and pettiness the most important thing. Rules and regulations are in place to keep people safe, there is no gray area follow these or be fined.
Don't give me the mean ole Government spiel, is it ok for a company to make working conditions unsafe just so they will build in a location? Hell no. I'm tired of this "the fines are making people take the jobs elsewhere" speech. What that says is you don't care if people get hurt or killed it's worth it as long as they bring the money into the economy. I think they should up their inspection honestly to make these companies get their act together so we don't have any workforce injuries.

I want to take a look at our Wicomico County Council and what the public has to deal with.
I have been impresses with Gail Bartovich and her ability to occasionally cross party lines. There have been a few times I felt she was unreasonable but she has shown some ability to think for herself and not the party.
Stevie Prettyman is Stevie Prettyman. Stevie makes up her mind on a subject and usually sticks to her party line which brings us to Joe Holloway who is a lemming that follows Stevie's every move. Joe is a terrible politician and I'm sure he calls Stevie to decide what cereal to eat each morning.
Matt Holloway has shown some independent thought as well with some party line crossing.
Sheree Sample Hughes is simply the best, this lady is the shining star of our Council.
Bob Culver never thinks outside his Republican mantra and doesn't know how to think outside the box. He also has no original ideas.

I want to take the time and apologize for anyone that I offended yesterday in my Andy Harris article, but want you to expect more of the same in the future. Why? you ask..because it is obvious that people in this country do not get involved or share their thoughts on our political situation until you push their buttons and antagonize them. If that is what it takes to rile people up to come up with ideas then so be it, the insults mean nothing to me at this point so as long as you get blood pumping and want to yell about a post regarding US politics the better for everyone.
What I get sick of is plain and simple. Any Politician Democrat or Republican that offers ZERO ideas or solutions to problems but just sits and nitpicks and says no to others ideas is a target. I can tell you we have alot of those people around us and sadly many are in positions to make votes on our behalf. We need ideas and problem solving to correct the problems, not a group of people that sit back and throw darts at everything.
What I see is Democrats that offer solutions, and I admit not all are good, and the only response the Republicans, Tea party, AFP or other fringe group can have is NO. Push them to explain and it's always the same response "we need less Government" ok more please "Government needs to get out of the way" ok and how can we implement your idea and make the Country better? specific targeted solutions please not T-shirt slogans. We need action and for everyone to sit down and come up with ideas that all can agree on, this we hate Democrats we hate Republicans crap is very very old.
