Letter To The Editor On Pocomoke Restaurant
I live in Pocomoke. I am so amazed sometimes when certain people come up with these grandiose ideas. They could not wait to get the Discovery Center which was supposed to bring in ALL these people from EVERYWHERE. Seriously? A few fish and some other displays are ok, but not exactly the National Aquarium. They did a fabulous re-do of the Marva Theater which locals definitely enjoy. Now the same few want a waterfront restaurant. All well and good, but not with my tax payer dollars. Buildings are falling down, drugs are still a huge issue, police department is pathetic, and I could go on. Did I mention that behind the Discovery Center and the proposed site for a restaurant is the area called "the slums"? Seriously. I for one do not want to finance a restaurant with a view of the "slums" and the market across the river which is a falling down building and a trailer. Lets fix some of the streets and bring more PRIVATE business to Pocomoke.

Should Pocomoke Be In The Restaurant Business?
I was interested in seeing the story on the Pocomoke Council's agreement to build a restaurant in the hopes that they can convince a chef to come in and turn it into something. I can see pro or con in it, I just know that crap would never work in Salisbury with our Council.

Ashlynn Bruce Update
From Ashlynn's Mom: Last time I wanted to get her labs done it had been three weeks is when she normally gets her blood done! I called to get labs done and transfused but Pediatrics was full so they couldn't fit her in to get her blood! It wasn't Pediatrics fault but the hospital needs to be able to accommodate Pediatrics patients if by chance the peds unit is full! Made arrangements to get her in when I could and when would work for them an by that time her numbers were really low! 5.8 was her hemoglobin! That's really low and very unsafe for her! Today when we got here I spoke to the doctor in charge and she said the two main pediatric doctors have tried to get her into the infusion center but apparently have gotten nothing but walls trying to make it happen because they don't have anyone that is comfortable with children! Its sad the area has no Pediatrics specialists . The nurses and doctors are amazing I just think Salisbury should be able to accommodate sick children better. Even though they say she is tough its very dangerous for her to drop so low. She has been miserable for days and crying and just not herself. Was also complaining about headaches and its not fair to her
