Negativity Is Astounding
The amount of negativity from a small group of local people against doing this great thing for the Johnson-Goslee family I find personally disgusting. Let me tell you straight up I don't expect you to like my opinion on the matter if your opposed to it, but guess what this is my website so my opinion that I am entitled to I am sharing. If you want to put together a we hate the Johnson-Goslee build party I am sure you will find plenty of like minded people to join.
It has come down in my opinion to the Republicans that oppose Obama, deciding that any Government help even for a valuable community project like this one is wrong. I have had arguments even with close friends and former friends on this matter but as they are entitled to their opinion I am mine. The problem is they have become so negative to anything done to help others because they tie it into Obama. I did not vote for Obama I voted for John McCain so don't feed me that liberal BS nonsense.
They want to complain about "taxpayer" money helping this family out and continually move the amount up and up to make it seem even more appalling that we would help. How are they going to pay the taxes on it? the heating on it? blah blah blah all the attitudes of the negative mindset. What if meteors strike the earth and dinosaurs come back to life let us run that scenario as well. Instead of being part of something that has brought this community together they wish to sit and throw stones at it with all the bad things that can happen. Bad things can happen to anyone at anytime even to the people that are complaining now about helping a deserving family. I guess when they find themselves in need they won't mind when we turn our noses up in the air and ignore them and the chance we should take on helping them out.
This really gets to the heart of helping people. If you take that hard line Republican/ Tea Party don't help the poor let the Community do it attitude of course you will never like any feel good project we get involved with. I have never been afraid to tell it like it is and I will here as well. If the Government didn't exist and didn't use tax money to help people out, the people that complain about being allowed to decide if a cause is something that they want their money given to would only give a tiny amount of what they should. It's the all about me syndrome the "greed is good" mentality from the Reagan years.
How many taxpayers do we have in Wicomico County? divide that number by the amount you think we have spent on the project and if you have a problem with the pocket change involved I feel sorry for you. The way that this Community has come together and been excited about helping this family out is worth double what has been put into it in my opinion. You are certainly welcome to leave comments opposed to what I feel but I'm not promising anyone that I will publish any of their comments even if they sign their name if they are nothing more than Government rants.

Letter To The Editor
"In their continual effort to attain world domination, or just total control of every aspect of Salisbury's City Government, at yesterday's work session, Council VP Debbie Campbell led the discussion on taking administrative control of the city attorney away from the mayor and bestowing that control on the city council. This charter change would require a super majority of at least four votes which is not bloody likely given the common sense of Laura Mitchell and Shanie Shields. However, that did not stop Ms. Campbell and Ms. Cohen in their campaign to convince Mayor Ireton that giving the city council administrative control of the city attorney as well as authorizing the council to to hire additional lawyers with varying expertise, is for the mayor's own good and the good of the city. Interestingly, there was no discussion of estimated cost to the taxpayers on this proposal. Good Lord. Is it lonely up there Terry and Debbie? Instead of trying to take over the Mayors responsibilities, perhaps Mrs. Cohen and Mrs. Campbell could try to get the Council's work session agendas out on time and courteously clue in all council members, on items to be discussed in closed sessions. Or, you ladies could work on sticking to the work session agenda and attempt to discuss issues on a timely basis.
When you write the work session agenda, it would be nice if you would put like items together so that you don't continually inconvenience city department heads and members of the public who work for a living and have taken time out of their day to attend your inordinately, lengthly legislative sessions. It would also be classy and prudent for you to quit insinuating that every elected official that came before you was corrupt and lacked your moral integrity as it is insulting to all the good people who have sacrificed to serve our community through these many years. One final suggestion, is for you to consider the fact that though you love it, legislation is not always the answer to life's problems. There is an awful lot of effort being expended on fixing items that are not necessarily broken. Laura Mitchell said it best yesterday, the public does not appreciate government "doing things to them". The public, and that includes anyone who pays taxes, would prefer the government work with them, as a government that works for the people, and not itself, is the cornerstone to sustaining the freedoms of this country."
Snow Hill High School
I could not believe how terrible Snow Hill High School was until I saw the photos here. The place is falling apart they should have been correcting these problems long ago and it wouldn't be as big a price tag as they are looking at for the repairs. The overcrowding and nasty condition are disgusting and I hope they approve the plan to start fixing the problem
Crisfield Police Come Through
Like I stated a little bit back the Crisfield Police has come through with the help of the Maryland State Police Fugitive Task Force in making arrests on the Double shooting a few weeks back. Alexander Dejarnette, 24, of Marion Station, and Dionte Collins, 20, of Somers Cove Apartments were arrested and face attempted murder, assault and handgun charges, according to the Crisfield Police Department.

City Council Targeting Renters
In news that really isn't surprising to anyone that knows how the Two C's work, they want to target rentals for more frequent inspections allowing Tom Stevenson and and Neighborhood services and Code Compliance to run carte blanche on Rental units but not keep the same tight control on owner occupied homes. The violation of renters rights by these two is astounding.
Look I'm all for making sure that rental properties are compliant, but to have rental units held to this standard while people like Tim Spies home sit with paint peeling and look like crap aren't checked on because they are "owner" occupied is ridiculous. One standard for renters and another for owners, that is precisely what they have been doing for years causing an even deeper divide in the very neighborhoods they live in.
Let me give you a newsflash ladies the University was there long before you moved into that neighborhood, and if you think somehow at the end of your pathetic years in office that you will somehow purge that neighborhood of renters by your constant harassment of them you are beyond insane. I can't wait for the day when you are fighting off West Nile in Silver beach and 809 Camden becomes the next 4-2 rental property in Salisbury..that will be a day to party
