Still Awaiting Official Word On Body Found In Somerset
Nothing new to report on the body that was found in Somerset County yesterday as we await Official Word on the matter.
Terry Cohen Continues To Delay Briefing Books
I have made a post on this matter in the past and the matter has never been corrected. Terry Cohen and Debbie Campbell continue to delay the release of the briefing books for Monday nights meetings.
Briefing Books are supposed to be handed to Council Members Wednesday at noon, and Terry Cohen seems to think these rules do not apply to her. She has been consistently late getting these out since getting her coveted President's chair. Council member were not given this weeks briefing book until Friday afternoon.
How many remember the crying and moaning the other side made because anytime Louise Smith was late with a memo or any document it was because there had to be a conspiracy afoot. Terry Cohen and Debbie Campbell are 2 days late with Briefing books not giving adequate time for anyone to know what will be going on at the meetings.
I can tell you why, in my opinion it's because the Camden trio have already discussed how they are going to vote so why bother to let the other Council members have any info on what is to occur?
What Is The Future of Urban Salisbury?
With this latest round between the City Council and Urban Salisbury's plans for Downtown, the question for most people is what does the future hold for Urban Salisbury. Will they fold up shop and say we just can't deal with this drama anymore? I can't think of many who would blame them considering the financial issues they have had to deal with.
I think people don;t realize Urban Salisbury does more than just put on third Friday events, they help bring businesses Downtown. There have been a few new shops open up on the plaza in the past 2 tears, which without Urban Salisbury I just don;t know would have happened. Is it as fast as we who love Salisbury would like? no but it also didn't get that way overnight.
Linens Of The Week Looks Like A Go
It looks like the City Council after continued discussion is finally ready to foot the bill to demolish part of the building so that MDE can come in and remove the tanks and things that are on the property that would contain harmful chemicals. Let us hope this is just part 1 and that a full demolition will be next.
