Delmar The Next Political War Zone
Well just when you thought the political BS was behind us for a bit, we are faced with the upcoming Delmar Elections. The Mayor and 2 Commissioners seats are up for grabs. Niblett is not expected to seek another term and Carl Anderton is expected to announce any day his campaign for Mayor. Bunky Luffman has filed for one of the Commissioners seats.
The only person I hope does not get involved in this is Tom McGuire who ran for Mayor last time around. I did not not know Tom at the time but deeply regret supporting him in any way shape or form.
Will We Finally Soon Be Rid Of Thrift Travel Inn?
I was happy to read that we are one step closer to maybe being rid of the eyesore and local whorehouse the Thrift Travel Inn. If you could build something in that location what would it be?
Old Salisbury Fire Headquarters Storage?
I haven't seen or heard anything about the Gillis group and what they are planning to do to the old Fire Station but I would hope we will hear soon as it has been quite a bit of time. I have noticed the City is storing the Park Christmas lights in the garage however.
Stephen Merritt Pleads Guilty
This animal has pled guilty to multiple counts of sex abuse of a minor and sex offense. This was the original story from March here
Joel Hamilton Doing Great Job At Salisbury Zoo
We are very fortunate in Salisbury to have had back to back terrific zoo directors in Jim Rapp and now Joel Hamilton. Joel has done a great job modernizing our zoo and bringing some cool new projects into our little treasure. The staff at the zoo also should be commended for the hard work they put into keeping our animals safe during Irene. We need to support our Zoo as much as possible and recognizing our Zoo Director is a great way to do so
Pocomoke Power Issues/ Power Restored!
Pocomoke City's Downtown Business District has lost 1/2 of it's power closing some businesses in the District and City Hall. Those affected include a flower shop, photography shop and counseling office including the Pocomoke City Hall. The electric company has told some it could Aug. 31 before power is restored and others up to possibly a few weeks. Without electricity and phones, there was nothing to do at City Hall and possilby they closed up and were all sit home after sitting around without power.
Power is back on!
Debbie Campbell Unethical? No Way!
Sarah Lake did a great article this morning regarding the Queen of Mosquitos Deborah "West Nile" Campbell . I wrote an article on this last week and there are legitimate concerns that she had no business being involved in bricks voting.
Debbie Campbell is the most vindictive spiteful person breathing air today so really nothing that she does should surprise anyone. I mean how many people would go to the Police Department and ask for a surveillance video back on her office because it contained what she called "something of a personal nature" but then call a SPD Captain a liar for saying that never happened?
Debbie Campbell is the reason this City is going down the toilet because she is always and only about one person Debbie. This is the same person that wants you the taxpayers to foot the bill for her and her families health insurance while she owns three homes. The woman is pathetic

Tom “Bunky” Luffman, Jr. is Running for the office of Delmar Town Commissioner |
Delmar, Maryland, USA August 29th, 2011 |
My name is Tom “Bunky” Luffman, Jr. and today I filed to be the next Town Commissioner in Delmar, Maryland. You may know me from my service on our Planning and Zoning Commission or my previous service on Wicomico County Board of Education Superintendent Frederickson’s Re-districting Committee. During my time on Planning and Zoning I have consistently voted in a way that is both pro-home owner and pro-business. While I was on the Re-districting Committee I fought hard to keep Delmar children going to Delmar schools. When I joined the committee our town was faced with the specter of bussing some of our best and brightest to East Salisbury Elementary, which in turn would have forced those students to go to Wicomico Middle and High Schools. While I have nothing personal against any of these three schools (my mother went to Wi-Hi), I attended Delmar from kindergarten through graduation in 1991 and believe in the power of community and community schools. What we have in Delmar as a community is special and this is reflected and exemplified in our schools. Ask any realtor in the area and they will tell you that people want to move to Delmar so their kids can attend our schools. However, what is lesser known, but just as palpable to those of us that live here, is that the same spirit that inhabits our schools is manifest in our community as a whole. It is with this spirit that I intend on serving you as your Town Commissioner. In the coming weeks I will launch my website (BunkyLuffman.com) that will outline my platform. However, I promise you these things as the rock that my character and campaign stand upon: 1. I won't raise taxes 2. You'll always know where I stand 3. I won't lie to you 4. You will always be able to get ahold of me to discuss any issue I humbly ask you to remember me when you cast your ballot for Town Commissioner. The dates are: Primary (if needed): Tuesday, September 27th 7am-7pm General: Tuesday, November 15th 7am-7pm For voting eligibility call the Delmar Town Hall: (410) 896-2777 Monday through Friday 8am-4:30pm. |
God Bless America and God Bless the Wildcats of Delmar. Tom “Bunky” Luffman, Jr. |
