Big Shake up Somerset County Board of Education
There was a Big Shake up at the Somerset County Board of Education today. Principals and Teachers both were informed they were being moved and they all just found out today on their first day back to work. More will likely come on Wednesdays at the big Somerset County Board of Education meeting.
Don't Blame The City For WWTP Mess
When words like fraudulent misrepresentation and negligent misrepresentation are presented in court, the Cities Lawyers are clearly making the case that it wasn't the City who was at fault for the WWTP nightmare but the contractor O'Brien & Gere. The judge today tossed the motion to dismiss so we will get it heard.
High School Education or GED Should Be Required For Office
I did see one other thing of interest come from the County Council meeting that I agree with 100%. That was the suggestion that Sheree Sample Hughes came up with to require a High School Education or GED to be eligible for Office.
I know many will scream discrimination, but very important decisions are being made with large amounts of money, and if you didn't graduate High School or take the time and effort to get your GED than I don't feel you should be making any decisions for the Citizens.
County Council Starting To Act Like City
In what was a sad display of political nonsense at the County Council meeting the proposal of Rick Pollitt to change his staff around failed to move on to public input. You know like or dislike the plan the public had a right to weigh in on how they felt, and this nonsense by Bob Culver of "already made up his mind" and why waste the time was pure ignorance.
Bob you were elected by people who you represent, you are supposed to allow them the opportunity to speak their minds. I wasn't aware you made all the decisions on matters without allowing citizens input at a public forum. Would it had passed? of course not but people were passionate about it on both sides and slamming the door shut on the public which is what the Council did is beyond petty. You all want to get back at Rick do it without taking our rights way.
Terry Cohen Disrespects NAACP
In a total display of disrespect Council President Terry Cohen pictured above could not be bothered to respond to an email to Mary Ashanti Head of the Local NAACP for over 2 months over her concerns regarding the refusal to accept the Bricks property for minorities.
I don't care if you like the NAACP or not that is a classless way to treat someone. Terry has never had any problem before responding to emails promptly but one from the NAACP just "happens" to be overlooked for two months. I cry BS. Terry didn't want to respond because obviously from her track record lately she doesn't care.
Bricks To Cost Us 108,000 Dollars Thanks Debbie, Terry and Tim REPOST
Here we go again with the redo squad getting us caught with a 108,000 bill for our pulling out of the bricks project. The project would have cost us nothing and because of these three nutters we now will have to pay for it.
Debbie was so adamant about cutting 30 thousand dollars from the PAC14 budget because she was "looking out" for the taxpayer but pretends this doesn't fall on her vindictiveness. She also seems to forget the 30 grand the City has had to foot for her Health Insurance coverage the past 2 year that could have been put back into the budget except for her greed.
Hey Workers on furlough add that together 108,000 plus 30 thousand, that's right I'm sure 138,000 could have brought a few of you back to work.
UPDATE: I reposted this article from Monday because it is in the times today which will being it back to peoples attention. I love the fact that not only are we now faced with the 108,000 Tab but Terry wants to consult with Paul Wilber about it which will cost us even more money. She is pathetic
I had to say Jim gets another applause on his comment from the times
""We could have received $1.475 million and had affordable houses as a gateway into our Church Street neighborhood," Ireton said. "On behalf of the taxpayers, all questions can be forwarded to the City Council president.""
