Well if the good news didn't keep coming yesterday. First we had Jim's veto overridden and then the news that the only business that seemed to be thriving on that part of Main Street was closing it's doors. I don't know what it's going to take to get some life Downtown, yea I know I'm gonna get the usual it's dead Grinch give it up comments, but let me tell you other Cities that have been in similar positions have managed to turn it all around so why can't we?
The biggest problem is the public has no interest because if the voter turn out is any indicator nobody gives a crap what actually happens to them or around them. With Lord Terry sitting on her throne doling out the crumbs to Urban Salisbury in their already pathetic budget, Downtown is dead until we can get rid of the Two C's. We all have to have a dream and I think saving our Downtown is the very heart of Salisbury for the future generations that will carry the torch.
I will continue to fight for Downtown regardless but know I have no real prospects of success until we have a Council that cares about Downtown like I can honestly say Jim does. Battle Lost but the war has just begun
