Urban Salisbury Should Close Their Doors

After the BS overriding of Jim Ireton's Veto of the budget today which includes the micromanaging of Urban Salisbury and a huge slash in their funds, I think Urban Salisbury should take a stand and close up shop. Since the four council people want to run the organization there is no point in having anyone a part of it.

I want them to find someone else to come in and do all the work this organization has done with no support and a bunch of no it alls telling them every move they can make. Let me tell you they wouldn't and that is precisely what needs to be done. Debbie Campbell can't even bring her dumb ass Downtown and Terry barely shows up but yet they want to manage the future of Downtown. We are lost this time

Great Comment Received

"Grinch, do all of the "casual chats", telephone conversations and three way emails btween the Camden Clowns constitute illiegal quorums?

Who can investigate?

If they deny these things are happening, then they're bigger liars than we think they are."

City Loses

The City has lost, the Council has overridden Jim's Veto. I am very disappointed in Laura Mitchell for not doing the right thing and fighting for the City. She allowed Terry and Debbie to dictate the future of the City so we lost. Moving on

Did Something Even Happen In Hebron?

It has been so long now since the incident in Hebron I feel like the men in black must have come in with their memory zappers and wiped our memories at this point. Wow I guess out of sight out of mind does work

Why Does Public Works Always Get Screwed On Salary?

One item that was brought up at the public input session Monday night that I did some research on was the fact that the Cities Public Works employees are always overlooked when it comes to pay. There are 19 people working below their pay grade in the Public Works department and yet these guy and girls are the very heart of our City. Imagine if we didn't have a public works ,The Public Works Department is responsible for the city water and sewer systems, the water and waste water treatment plants, sanitation, street and sidewalk maintenance, the Zoo, the Marina, and the city parks.

Is it because they are considered just grunts? blue collar workers who should be happy about the jobs they have? I'm not talking about over paying them, I'm talking about just paying them at their pay level which is only fair. I can't support continued increase pay for others who are at their pay grade but ignore the ones not at a standard level. Please support our Public Works workers, they work hard everyday keeping the City going and deserve the respect for doing jobs others don't want.

Showdown Over The Budget

I wish it could be done old west style, Jim and his posse meeting Debbie with hers Downtown at noon having an epic shootout. The State's Attorneys Office agreeing to not press charges so we could settle it once and for all.

Debbie Campbell and Terry Cohen want to control the City as dictators plain and simple, nobody knows anything about a subject more than they do so they can dismiss any advise. Jim Ireton who I disagree with at least 99% of the time is right on this one and has my support.

The people that Debbie recruits to do her bidding are seriously pathetic. They have no vision, no ideas they just drone on the Debbie speech. Dot Truitt, Kay Gibson, Bob Taylor the list of Debbie's henchmen that see no wrong in the world of Debbie we are all the evil ones for disagreeing with her.

PAC14, Urban Salisbury and all the other projects they want to cut out are political payback Debbie style and Terry is so damn blinded by her devotion to Debbie she is willingly putting her head on the train tracks, and she thinks she is some super intelligent being. I found it amusing to watch her go after Shanie for changing her mind about the Budget vote. Instead of being like respectful of Shanie's decision Terry has to make it a point to call her out over it, and that's Different than what you complained about with Louise how Terry??? Shanie isn't able to change her mind without you getting pissed over it?

Jim's budget needs to stay and I hope the Council does the right thing and doesn't override his veto.

Kudos To Compromise

I wanted to take a minute and congratulate the County Council for working on a compromise and passing two issues that have been hotly debated the homestead tax credit and the traffic ticket cameras. The compromises made everyone happy which is something sorely lacking in the City.

The speed camera issue which I talked about last week was settled by only operating them when School is in session and during School hours, which is a fine compromise and I applaud the effort.
