Featured Artist Jay Fleming

Jay Fleming PhotographyJay's passion in photography came from his father, Kevin Fleming, a former National Geographic Photographer and now a book publisher. At the age of 14 that Jay realized that he could take pictures also. Using one of Kevin's hand-me-down rigs, a Nikon film camera and a old 300mm lens from the geographic days, Jay accompanied his dad to a rookery island in Delaware. With one of his photographs taken on the trip he won grand prize in the Environmental Protection Agency's 2004 Wildlife of Wetlands photography contest. This experience sparked Jay's interest and passion for photography, and continually he has strived to out-do himself with his next picture. Since graduating from St. Mary's College of Maryland in 2009 Jay has documented his fishing and camping trips and worked in the field of Fisheries for different government organizations

Pugsley
Featured Band for April - Pugsly!

PUGSLY is a five-piece band from Salisbury Maryland.  We feature guitar, bass, drums, keyboards, and trombone.  Our music is built upon a solid, smooth, funky, country-punk, alternative bluesy sound. We play an eclectic mix of covers and originals.  Covers include songs ranging from the Cure to Johnny Cash.  We play both amplified and acoustic versions of most of our songs, depending on the size of the venue. No venue is too large or too small to enjoy the fun that is PUGSLY.
Chrys Egan:  Bass, Keyboards, Vocals
John Egan: Guitar, Bass, Vocals
Kurt Ludwick: Trombone, Keyboards, Vocals
Mike Moeder: Guitar
Sandy Fagely: Percussion

Copious Poor

Brad Carr (vocalist/bassist) was the former vocalist of Florida based metal band Motorbone, and thrives on the adrenaline rush of being on stage. Jayson Dato is a war veteran with hard core drumming skills that match his intense personality. And finally, Salisbury Alumnus Tyler Harwood serves as the the savvy lead guitarist and backbone of the band.

Jim Ireton Lays Out His FY12 Budget

Yesterday afternoon Jim Ireton laid out his plans for the FY12 budget with no real shocking changes. Furloughs still will be in effect with the only increase being in sewer rates by 18% which as a City resident with a water and sewer bill I'm not looking forward to. I was actually surprised there really wasn't much that caught my attention although I did see a landlord registration fee increase which didn't surprise me.

Somerset County State's Attorney Scores Big

Somerset County State's Attorney Dan Powell Reopened this 2007 case and scored a big conviction by getting repeat drug offender Ronald White off the streets for the next 25 years. The guy was dealing drugs in a School zone which is the most disgusting thing of all to do. Great job to our local State's Attorney's for going hardcore against these drug offenders.
