PRESS RELEASE
Armed Robbery

March 21, 2011

On March 19, 2011 at approximately 11:25 pm, Officers of the Salisbury Police received a call to respond to the Shore Stop Convenience Store on Mt. Hermon Road for the report of an armed robbery. Upon arrival the officers met with the clerk of the business who advised that just prior to contact a single suspect had entered the business and produced a handgun. The suspect pointed the handgun at a customer, then at the clerk, prior to taking an amount of U.S. Currency from the cash register. The suspect then fled out of the front door and away from the store west bound, on foot. There were no injuries.

The suspect was described as:

African American male, approximately 6’ 2”, 200 pounds, braid style hair, wearing a white one-piece hooded suit and a black ski type mask.

The handgun was described as a black semi-automatic type handgun.

The Salisbury Police are asking anyone that may have witnessed the robbery, or has any information pertaining to the robbery to contact the Salisbury Police Department at 410-548-3165 or to contact Crime Solvers at 410-548-1776. Information may be left at both locations anonymously.

Do "We the People" Have Any Say?

Here is a mind-boggling court order from Judge Richard A. Nielsen, of Hillsborough County (Tampa) Florida. Read the whole court order, via Jihad Watch.

Oklahoma voters passed a law barring the application of sahria law, and it was
struck down by a federal judge, U.S. District Judge Vicki Miles-LaGrange.

Whether the American people consent or not, multiculturalist elites have decided to ram sharia down our throats.

More Economic Mistakes

A $2.3 trillion error. That's one helluva "oops." But that's exactly what has happened to the Obama administration. The CBO finally released an analysis of Obama's 2012 budget and the bottom line is this: the Obama administration's budget was off by a whopping $2.3 trillion. Let's see .. average tax burden per household is about $10,000 .. so that means 230 million American households represents the "oops" in Obama's budget calculations. The deficit estimates for Obama's budget will be $2.3 trillion higher than the Obama administration's predictions over the 2012-2021 period. The deficits will actually add up to $9.5 trillion under Obama's plan. By 2021, the debt held by the public will equal 87% of our GDP. The Washington Times puts this in concrete terms:
........ that means today's public debt of $14.2 trillion will balloon to $23.7 trillion by the year 2021. For each American who pays taxes, that represents a $260,000 liability. The jumbo-sized deficits have a real impact on taxpayers who will end up spending more of their money on interest. That's the case under Mr. Obama's budget, where interest payments nearly quadruple from $260 billion to $931 billion a year in 2021. That means 3.9 percent of the nation's entire productive output will be devoted not to funding present government operations, but to covering the excess spending of an administration long past.
Where did this discrepancy come from? A few things. First of all, the Obama administration pretty much made up its own figures for how much tax revenue it was going to collect. It assumes a figure far higher than economic reality. But the CBO also rejects the Obama administration's claims that ObamaCare will save $300 billion with the "doc fix." That fact is huge ... the CBO is essentially saying that Obama's claims that ObamaCare is deficit-neutral are false. But the CBO also didn't buy a White House claims that it would be getting an additional $328 billion from unspecified "bipartisan financing" to pay for transportation infrastructure projects like this ridiculous high speed rail line idea.
And the kicker ... this is the second time that the White House has made a $2 trillion mistake in its estimates. Coincidence or just sheer ignorance? Well .. I guess we could add incompetence to your list of choices.

Bricks Hits Well A Wall I Suppose

Sarah Lake had an interesting story in the paper today regarding the Bricks and the problems renovating it with it residing in the Church Street Historic District. The bigger question is can't historic buildings be fixed with modern materials to keep them from getting run down so quickly. I saw the same thing in Berlin with the Atlantic Hotel replacing their windows with vinyl.

I have to wonder at what point does "Historic" become a tad bit on the obsessive side. I just feel like it would be easier to get people to take on these older buildings if a compromise could be met that they maintain a historic look but allow modern materials. How many people want to buy one of these buildings but know they would have to find certain kinds of paint or wood for replacement purposes. I'm not saying the old buildings should not be maintained for the future, but I think quite a few older structures have simple been abandoned because of the cost of upkeep.

Armed Robbery and No Media Coverage?

I kept looking late Saturday and all day Sunday and then this morning for any local news outlet to have the news about the armed robbery of the shore stop on Mt Hermon road that I reported on Saturday night and still nothing from any of them.

I am not trying to be Joe here trust me, but it is important that the info get out to the public about these crimes with descriptions of the individuals in connection.
