While I admire the spirit of the event in helping to raise money for the United Way, I cannot think of very many people that would get excited to hear Psychic Dionne Warwick sing anything. I also wasn't sure why we couldn't get some local bands like Test Kitchen or The Larks to play since they are from the area. Let us hope that the future events draw bigger and better performers and allow for some homegrown talent to be displayed as well.

Camden against The Rest Of Us UPDATED!

Let us face facts Salisbury residents, the Camden Association thinks they know what is best for the rest of us peasants in Salisbury. I have grave concerns about having too many representatives from that area telling the rest of us what is best for us. We need districting and we need it now. If Camden wants to control everything let them secede from Salisbury and have their own form of Government with the stepford wives running the show.

Get out and vote April 5th Salisbury and tell the Camden neighborhood to stick it up their $#!# holes.

Should We Reconsider Bennett Middle?

With all the recent flurry of activity surrounding the building of the new Bennett Middle School and Rick Pollitt deciding to form a group to look into other funding avenues, the question should be asked should we reconsider and proceed with the process?

I have stated I was against the project because of the current economic issues we are facing, but when the 2 most highly respected members of the County Council Bob Caldwell and Sheree Sample Hughes vote in favor of it, a second look at the matter was warranted.

If the conditions in the current Bennett middle are as bad as described with no air, crowding and handicapped accessibility problems than maybe Rick is right. If you have a child that goes there and they have complained about the situation please leave a comment here so we can get the full information about what the deal really is inside the School.
