City police are searching for a suspect after a male victim was robbed at gunpoint on Monday while walked his dog in the city park.

The victim was walking on a path near the overflow parking lot on the north side of the river around 4:04 p.m. when a male displayed a handgun, demanded money and threatened to shoot the victim, according to police.


After taking the victim's wallet, car keys and cell phone, the gunman was seen running toward North Park Drive.

The suspect is described as a black male with a medium brown complexion, short black hair and a clean shaven face. He is in his 20s is approximately 5-feet 6-inches tall and weighs about 170 pounds. He has a stocky build.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Salisbury Police Department at 410-548-3165 or Crime Solvers with an anonymous tip at 410-548-1776.

A Nation of Handouts

This is unbelievable. I mean, seriously folks ... this statistic should scare the yak squeeze out of any productive member of society.

Government payouts make up more than a third of total wages and salaries of the U.S. population ...

Even as the economy has recovered, social welfare benefits make up 35 percent of wages and salaries this year, up from 21 percent in 2000 and 10 percent in 1960.

First of all, about this "wage" nonsense. If it's a government handout then it isn't a "wage.' You receive wages as compensation for your labor. You don't work for these payments .... These government handouts are basically doled out for political advantage. The more likely you are to vote, the more likely you are to be on the receiving end of a government check. Young single women - especially those with babies - vote; and they vote Democrat. That's why they get huge amounts of someone else's money. Something else I would like to point out ... remember that government spending has doubled since 2000. We have managed to double the cost of our federal government. During that time social welfare benefits have increased 21%. The principle motivation behind the growth of government is to increase government dependency. Dependence on government translates into power for politicians .. and that's what this is all about folks. That's what it has always been about ... power.

Would you like to see people living more of the wealth they produce than the wealth produced by someone else? To do this economists say that we have two options:

• Either wages and salaries would have to increase $2.3 trillion, or 35 percent, to $8.8 trillion
• Or social welfare benefits would have to decline $500 billion, or 23 percent, to $1.7 trillion

But here's something to keep in mind about the last option (benefits having to decline by $500 billion): Social welfare benefits have increased by $514 billion over the last two years. Just two years! But now we have them hooked. Once you get people hooked on government, it's hard to tell them that they must return to a life of self sufficiency. Sadly, we now live in a country where self-reliance is something to be feared and avoided, and security and laziness are being encouraged by our own government.

Well I saw that the majority of people voted for the boardwalk to remain all wood again. I was actually hoping they would go with the bottom one but the people have spoken.

Our favorite person Kristy Hickman has an update. The review board has talked to the Somerset County States Attorney's Office Secretaries regarding the files missing from their computers. This interview happened recently so it does mean that there is something going on behind the scenes.
