Ashlynn Bruce's Mother Concerned Over Change In Ashlynn's Care

 Patricia contacted me about a recent change the Doctors have made regarding Ashlynn and her transfusions. Patricia sent me the information below.

 

"typically a normal hemoglobin is about 12-15..after 3 weeks Ashlynn normally sits between 7-8 and that's normally where they have been transfusing her.. They let her drop before to 5's and 6's and shes completely miserable when they do! Shes been very consistent on being between 7-8 after 3 weeks and now they want to "test" her body and see how her body can handle going possibly 4 weeks and 5 weeks! Which would drop her numbers prob to 5 and maybe lower if they let her go 5 weeks since shes never gone that long! Red blood cells carry oxygen so my concern is how much oxygen would get to her major organs and how that could potentially affect her organs if not getting the proper amount of oxygen! The dr said Ashlynns "tough" but still don't feel safe with them letting her get so low and basically using her as a guinea pig!!"

Leave it to Mike McDermott to embarrass himself and the eastern shore in Annapolis. It seems  the freshmen delagates met with DNR officials.  Some one asked if there were any bird watchers among the group and Mcdermott replied"I like to watch birds and identify them right before I shoot them".  What an asinine statement to come from an elected official.
