House Passes Middle-Class Bush Tax Cut that ...

The House today voted to keep the same tax rate for middle class income earners that for the past several years democrats told us did not exist.

House Democrats on Thursday passed a bill making middle-class tax cuts permanent as Republicans accused them of playing political games at a sensitive time.

The bill passed 234-188 but stands no chance in the Senate. But House Democrats, who want to let the cuts expire for the wealthy, wanted to publicly stake out their position before compromising on extending the tax cuts for everyone.

Republicans immediately cast the vote as a tax hike on small businesses and families earning over $250,000.

"During these difficult economic times, raising taxes on any American family or small business will not help our economy recover nor foster the private-sector job growth needed to achieve economic recovery," Rep. Gary Miller, R-Calif., said in a written statement. "The only thing that Democrats have accomplished by today's vote is yet more uncertainty for our nation's job creators."

House Republican Leader John Boehner described the Democratic maneuvering as "chicken crap." With a panel of administration officials and bipartisan members of Congress in the midst of negotiations to work out a deal averting the looming expiration of the Bush tax cuts, Boehner argued that Thursday's vote is not helpful.

I would say this is much worse than chicken crap, but we will go with that for now. As of today, the AMT has also not been fixed which will hit over 27 million American working families at a time when our congress says paying people not to work is the best way to get our economy moving forward. Our current government is clearly not our friend.

I do not care what our politicians think. The money I earn, is mine and my families. It is not meant for those trying to ride my back for their own good. God Bless Freedom as that and capitalism is the answer to the human condition.

'You are no longer free to move about the country'

Randy Balko nails it at Hit and Run:

A liberal blogger wrote to me in an email this week that libertarians who call the TSA pat-downs a violation of their civil liberties do a disservice to actual violations of civil liberties. It's not difficult to envision the day where anyone wishing to take mass transportation in this country will have to first submit to a government checkpoint, show ID, and answer questions about any excess cash, prescription medication, or any other items in his possession the government deems suspicious. If and when that happens, freedom of movement will essentially be dead. But it won't happen overnight. It'll happen incrementally. And each increment will, when taken in isolation, appear to some to be perfectly reasonable.

It's the 'boiling frog' scenario that posits the notion that we won't notice the slipping away of our liberty until it's gone. The problem is, if we make airplanes reasonably safe, why wouldn't al-Qaeda change strategy and go after Amtrak? Or a Greyhound terminal?

When we lose the ability to move about the country freely, the terrorists will have won. Maybe they already have...

On December 1, 2010, at approximately 2354 hours, Troopers from the Maryland State Police Salisbury Barrack responded to the “Dash In” Store located at 7201 Main Street Willards, Wicomico County, Maryland for a report of an armed robbery.   A Deputy with the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office was on patrol in the area of Willards, when he observed  two black males run from the “Dash In” and get into a vehicle which quickly left.  The Deputy stopped the vehicle and observed paper currency on the floor of the vehicle and numerous cartons of cigarettes in the passenger compartment of the vehicle, which matched what was stolen from the Dash In.  The clerk from the “Dash In” was able to positively identify two of the occupants of the vehicle as the subjects who had robbed him a short time before and who had stolen cash and cigarettes during the robbery.  Wicomico Bureau of Investigations assumed the investigation.  The investigation indicated that these subjects were potentially involved in a convenience store robbery that had occurred earlier in the evening in Worcester County.  Investigators also obtained video surveillance from the “Dash In”.  All four suspects were turned over to Wicomico County Central Booking for processing.   Both juveniles were charged as adults due to the nature of the charges.

Interesting

A WikiLeaks cable shows that when Spain considered a criminal case against ex-Bush officials, the Obama White House and Republicans got really bipartisan.

Nothing is ever as it seems. Does this surprise anyone?

Will Beau Do What The Family Has Asked Like Matt Has?

Matt Maciarello made a great gesture to both Davis Ruark and the Foxwell family by listening to the families request that Davis prosecute the case since they were comfortable with him doing it, the question must be raised will Beau do the same?

The Family of Christine Sheddy have made it clear they would like for Joel Todd to stay on and Prosecute Justin Hadel for the murder and have let Beau know this but so far nothing from Beau. I would think since Beau has never tried a murder case he would welcome Joel with open arms to give him guidance. It will be interesting to see if Beau can swallow his pride and admit he needs Joel to do the job.

World Cup Headed to Russia and Qatar

FIFA delegates awarded Russia and Qatar the right to host World Cup tournaments in 2018 and 2022, ending a process that has been marred by accusations of vote rigging. The decision comes as a particular blow to the hopes of the U.S. delegation, whose bid for the 2022 event had long been considered the favorite.

Any Ideas For Wicomico County Economic Growth?

Since changing the revenue cap isn't a popular idea, what would you do to fix our current problems?

Howard Dean Calls Tea Party Racist

The Tea Party is still a group of racists that does not appeal to young voters. So said Howard Dean to Vanderbilt University students.

According to the Student Free Press, Dean called into the the class “Political Campaigns and the Electoral Process” to discuss the effects of the Tea Party on the 2012 presidential election.

He made sure to let his thoughts known.

“I think in addition to a bad economy, the Tea Party arose out of a discomfort with the demographic shift going on in this country,” Dean said, trumpeting a popular, yet baseless, accusation that the Tea Party is inherently racist.

The Free Press went described the rest of Dean’s remarks by saying, “According [to] Dean, the country is shifting to a group of ethnic and social minorities and this bothers members of the Tea Party, which he said consists mostly of white people 55 years and older.”

Dean then shifted gears to reassure President Obama that he should worry about losing younger voters to the Tea Party group or the Republican party in general.

Salisbury City Council Race Begins Early

The race for the 3 seats coming up for grabs in the Salisbury City Council race has already begun. Muir Boda from the Doverdale neighborhood was the first to file followed by Camden Neighborhood resident Tim Spies.

It is unclear at this time if Gary Comegys, Terry Cohen or Louise Smith who currently occupy these seats plan to run for re-election. If I were to guess I think Terry may be the only one that will. I am going to try really hard to not be negative during this election as I am sure the criminal from Delaware will do plenty of that on his own, but I have to keep it real as I always have and we must face facts we do not need a City Council filled with Camden Neighborhood residents.

How can Tim Spies, Terry Cohen and Debbie Campbell all Camden residents speak for the other residents in the City? the answer..they can't. This isn't about landlords, this is about representation. The rest of us deserve to have someone represent the interests of the other neighborhoods in Salisbury.

The city needs to have someone from various neighborhood districts elected so Doverdale, Camden, Johnson Lake, Princeton Homes and the Presidents Neighborhood are represented. I hope more people from different neighborhoods run for these seats so the City can tackle the problems we all are facing.

This race needs to not turn into a us against them race, this is our City people get involved or let it burn to the ground, either way I will continue the fight till the City can move forward.

Where do the rich get their money?

Here's a little pop quiz for you ...... how many of those evil rich Americans actually work for a living?

Click here to find out. A little education is a good thing.

But statistics like that have no bearing on the wealth envy crowd. They would prefer you to think that rich people only have that money because they cheated or they exploited some poor working class sap. They didn't actually EARN it! It's an argument created by looters in order to keep the looters in power, thanks to the voting block of moochers.

Anti-Christmas Nonsense

The City of Philadelphia has relented. The word "Christmas" will be back on the sign for the Christmas Village outside city hall. Apparently more people complained about the "C" word being removed than complained about it being there in the first place.

What's with these attacks on the word "Christmas" everywhere you look? It's the power thing ... with a touch of fame mixed in. Let's say you have never done anything in your life that really attracted any attention outside of your circle of family and friends. Maybe you feel that you just really don't count! How can you make an impact? It really doesn't matter whether your impact is positive or negative ... just so you get noticed? Just so you can say to your friends "Hey! I did that! I'm the one that got "Christmas" replaced on that sign!" Just think ... after centuries of celebrating Christmas YOU come along and managed to get the word banned somewhere! Wow! You're really something, aren't you?

Ignore these cretins. And don't give me that "Happy Holiday's" stuff. It's Christmas ... always has been, still is.
