The Wicomico County State's Attorney's Office has and I see continues to be a great issue of divide among the people on blog sites and I want to chime in as one of those blogs. The perception has been from the beginning of this blog in 2008 that Outgoing State's Attorney Davis Ruark had a special relationship with sbynews and Joe Albero which caused alot of hatred to be aimed toward Davis for this issue.

Did said relationship exist? I honestly cannot tell you, you will find just as many people that swear it's true as you do people that say no way he only tolerated Joe. Davis was always fair with me during the years, but I state again there were times that I felt like more could have been done about the behavior on that other site but instead warnings were the only thing handed out to him.

This brings us to Matt Maciarello who will be sworn in as State's Attorney in January and already as a person opposed to everything and anything sbynews related I am asked constantly via phone calls and emails if Matt is with Joe. The answer is an emphatic no, he is with neither side. Matt cannot as well as Davis could not specifically single Joe Albero out and say leave my party, or don't take my picture. Honestly there is nothing he can do about it, the same as if it was me doing it.

We do not need to be burdening Matt with all the crime going on with these stupid constant questions surrounding his involvement with Joe when there is none. It is unfair to Matt to paint him with the veil of uncertainty that people felt about Davis and Joe when we are dealing with two entirely different people. Just because many of the same people {e.g Mike Lewis} are friendly with both means nothing. Trust Matt to not get caught up in the childish blog games because his job is to Prosecute the criminals that threaten our way of life, in that grand scheme sbynews and the salisbury grinch mean nothing.

Christine Sheddy Murder Trial Delayed Until After The New Year

Various media outlets are reporting on a beginning of December trial date for Justin Hadel accused of murdering Christine Sheddy, but the date has been pushed back until after the new year.

Davis Ruark Official Press Release

Davis Ruark, State's Attorney for Wicomico County,  has appointed  Matt Maciarello to serve as Deputy State's Attorney. Mr. Maciarello will be sworn in as Deputy State's Attorney on Monday, November 8th at 8:30 AM in the Circuit Court for Wicomico County. Mr Ruark anticipates that The Honorable Judge Kathleen L. Beckstead will administer the oath of office.

 

The appointment of Mr. Maciarello will facilitate the full exchange of information regarding the internal operation of the office as well as confidential and sensitive information regarding pending cases as well as ongoing criminal investigations in Wicomico County. As a result of this appointment, Mr. Maciarello will have the opportunity to start and then expand his administrative, managerial and litigation roles within the office prior Mr. Ruark's departure as State's Attorney.

 

The purpose for this action is to assure the citizens, the judiciary. the law enforcement personnel and, of course, the State's Attorney's personnel  that there will be a most professional and extremely smooth transition as the office progresses into a new era. 

 

By Mr. Ruark:  "Matt Maciarello is a highly intelligent, dedicated, talented attorney.  It will be of great help to the current State's Attorney and State's Attorney's staff to have Matt on board. He will undertake many of the different roles that the State's Attorney must handle on a daily basis. Commencing the transition now will allow for a seamless change of the top administration of the Office of the State's Attorney on January 3,

2011. This will benefit all of the people to whom we are committed to serve."

Tim Spies Throws Stu Leer Out Of A Public Meeting

I read Kris Adams letter to the editor today regarding Tim Spies behavior at a public meeting by asking Stu to leave because he wasn't a resident at a Camden Historical district meeting and was appalled at the behavior being shown on Tim's part. I remember last year other people we know were at the Camden Association meeting who don't even live in Maryland but they were not asked to leave, but yet a person with a vested interest in what happens gets asked to leave for no reason?..

The Community should be outraged at this behavior by Tim Spies who is completely unprofessional. Tim Spies has been given 4 or 5 extensions to fix his property which is run down with falling fences, abandoned cars, peeling paint and the like from his friend Jim Ireton but let Stu or any others have a blade of grass out of line and they get a fine. This is what the true ugly side of Salisbury looks like from inside the political circus Jim Ireton has created.

What Will Rick Pollitt Face With 6 Republicans

Well Rick Pollitt has his hands full the next 4 years with 6 Republicans facing him at every turn and I wonder how much he will be able to accomplish. I have faith that everyone will work together for the better of the community but I am sure Rick feels like he is facing a firing squad. We also must think about Sheree who will be the lone Democrat on the Council.
