Bad Year To Be A Democrat For The Most Part

Well except for a few races it was a bad year to be a Democrat across the country. The Republicans stepped up and got their people elected and that after all is what it is all about. I think mainly people want change so they have a hope of some new ideas that will get us out of this economic funk we are experiencing and this time around the Democrats take the blame because President Obama is one.

Will Democrats be able to take back lost ground in the future? only time will tell but the Democratic party should be very worried about their future prospects right now.

What Doesn't Work On Blogs

One very glaring obvious fact for the blogs is the fact that nobody cares to watch video interviews on either site. I will no longer even bother with uploading any interviews online and will just keep them on my TV show on Pac14.

Sbynews wasted loads of time with interviews which nobody even watched and I am just glad I only did a select few which were uploaded to youtube. I went and looked at the number of people that viewed the videos we both uploaded and it shows clearly people do not want to see us interviewing anyone.

This is a list of the views sbynews had on it's interviews which clearly shows nobody cares and is actually embarrassing. When you keep claiming that you get 10's of thousands of viewers each day and only this few actually watch these it shows we have zero influence on elections. People will make up their minds without looking at my site or sbynews to see us interview people on youtube.

I as well had the same problem as I had few watchers of my interviews online as well and hope next time people will not waste their time doing interviews with blogs as we will be of zero help to your cause as nobody cares to watch us interview you. I'm sorry it is a fact that must be faced. The highest numbers I had were my interview with Patricia and Ashlynn Bruce which had 426 views and those type I will do more of as people care about human interest stories and do not want to see bland political talk.

Obviously I feel for sbynews it's about ego having these people come to him to be interviewed to which I am glad I can finally show these people it was for him it was never for you. This is just one of the things that I will be changing about my site to streamline it for better coverage of what people actually want which is breaking news and human interest stories.

Mathias and James To Close To Call

The race between Jim Mathias and Michael James is still to close to call at this point. I know whoever wins will do a great job however. Michael James saw me out yesterday and made it a point to drive over to where I was put his window down and shake my hand and thank me for being fair with him, and I have nothing but total respect for him so should he win that would be cool as well.

Less Opinion More News

As we move forward past the Election I want to announce a change on the way I will be doing things on my site. The advantage of a blog over a newspaper and tv is the fact that bloggers can and do provide much faster breaking news coverage. I had a good conversation about this entire thing the other day and it made alot of sense.

Controversy does bring hits in and I know what topics I could touch on to rile people up to get comments, but getting information out to the public about events quickly when they are unfolding around the community is the best thing that I can do.I will of course still have my opinions on certain matters, but want to focus on getting people the news and information that other news sources aren't covering. We need to begin the healing process in our area and to that end I want to provide you the news and then you can voice your opinions.

Matt Maciarello Is Your New Wicomico County State's Attorney

The Salisbury Grinch With The New Wicomico County State's Attorney Matt Maciarello
After a very long day of traveling I promised Matt I would stop by his victory celebration and congratulate him in person. I arrived after 11:30pm and Market Street was packed but yet Matt came right over and was happy to see me and got some photos with him and of him. I was also very happy to see Sarah and told her I knew she was happy it was all over.

Matt Maciarello won handily as predicted, and this guy will lead Wicomico County into a bright future. Congratulations my friend you deserved it and as a citizen I am very excited about our future with you at the helm of the State's Attorney's Office.

It's Finally Over

Well we made it across the finish line and I can't tell you how happy I am about that. I was all over  Worcester, Somerset and Wicomico and I apologize for the lack of news, but really other than snapping some pics with my phone there really wasn't alot I could do during the day except visit the polling places and snap some pictures.

I want to congratulate everyone who won and even though many people I had hoped would win and supported didn't, it is time for healing not bitterness. I am still proud to call Allan Webster my friend regardless of his winning or not, if you actually get to know Allan the man and not as the Police Chief you would know what a good man he is. I am very happy that Dan won and I wish Bobby and everyone in Somerset the best of luck.

I wasn't really saddened that Mike McDermott won because honestly that is a victory for the people in Pocomoke to finally be rid of him. I was surprised more Democrats didn't vote Conway and Williams but a large number went to McDermott or Pusey. The State of Maryland lost out on some great leadership from Pusey and Williams but I know the people in Berlin are happy their Mayor is staying put. The race between Joel Todd and Beau Oglesby is to close to call currently with Beau in the lead by 146 votes but with 1500 absentee ballots outstanding. I know whatever the outcome that Joel Todd will make sure the cases coming up for trial like Christine Sheddy's will be ready to go even if he has to hand it off to Beau because Joel Todd is a man of integrity and cares about crime victims.

I also want to congratulate Bob Culver and Matt Holloway for their At Large Victories and know they will both do a great job representing the people. It was certainly a close race between Pollitt and Ollinger but I think in the end of the day Pollitt will help us steer into calmer waters.

My Friend Bob Caldwell will be representing District 4 and I cannot express how wonderful it will be to see Bob sitting at Council Meetings as he is truly a great man in our area. Stevie Prettyman also won over Mike Calpino so I want to send congratulations to her as well. We will have 6 Republicans on the County Council for the next 4 years so that will be interesting.

The Republicans certainly came out swinging with Andy Harris easily beating Frank Kratovil on a local level, but losing big in the Senate and Governor race as both Mikulski and O'Malley won easily.

Most importantly it is all over and now we can get ready for the holidays and of course my favorite time of the year Christmas. Thank you again everyone for tuning in to both my PAC14 show and my site. I guess next up is the City Elections in 2011 but I am not even thinking that far ahead.

Onward and Upward as the saying goes lots of good stuff coming up.
