There and Back Again A Salisbury Grinch Tale
I have been on the road it seems like forever today as I spent a good deal of time down in Somerset County. The pictures above are from Marion And Crisfield. I visited just about every polling place in Somerset and I can tell you like Wicomico it is dead as a door nail. I cannot believe more people have not been out voting, it is like a deserted wasteland at the polls. I was able to talk to Charles Otto a few minutes and I can tell you he is a nice guy. If the low voter turnout continues this will be pathetic from what I have seen. People complain alot but never show up to make a change. More later
Early Morning Election Day Photos

My Professional Career
I started my law enforcement career at 19years old as a Cadet with the Baltimore County Police Department. I graduated from the police academy in 1970 and worked as a patrol officer at the Garrison Station in Reisterstown, Maryland. I was selected to work in a plainclothes squad after three years and then transferred to the Criminal Investigation Division in 1975 as a Detective assigned to the Western Burglary Squad. I was promoted to Corporal and reassigned to Patrol where I was again promoted to Sergeant and eventually transferred back to the Criminal Investigation Division. I supervised the Auto Theft Unit and General Assignment Squad until I was promoted to Lieutenant in 1983 and assigned to the Personnel Division. In 1985 I was selected to command the Vice Squad that investigated organized gambling and prostitution in the entire county and surrounding areas. During my assignment in the Vice Squad, I was selected by Chief Cornelius J. Behan to attend the prestigious FBI National Academy in Quanitco, Virginia. Upon my return from the Academy, I was promoted to Captain and commanded the entire Precinct 03 area of Baltimore County, responsible for patrol and investigative services. In 1990, I was asked by the Chief of Police to command the Internal Affairs Division that was responsible for investigating police misconduct/corruption and maintaining the integrity of the police agency. I was again promoted in 1992 to Detective Major, remaining in the Internal Affairs Division. Shortly after being promoted, I was selected by Chief Michael Gambrill to Command the Criminal Investigation Division comprised of the Vice/Narcotics Division, Homicide Division, Robbery Division, Sex Crimes Division, Regional Auto Theft Unit and the Burglary Divisions.
In 1999, I applied for the Chief of Police position for the City of Salisbury and was selected from a field of seventy-eight candidates. My achievements in this position include:
* Maintaining National Accreditation for the Agency
* Successful in obtaining over 2 million dollars in grants for the agency
* Reorganized the agency to work more efficiently
* Eliminated unnecessary positions to improve communication in the agency and community
* Obtained pay increases and LEOPS retirement program to improve morale and stabilize the agency
* Professional officers received awards from the Maryland Chiefs of Police and the Maryland Municipal League
* Past Chairman of the Eastern Shore Regional Intelligence Center
* Created the Community Action Team that was responsive to community issues and complaints
