Did John Cannon's RINO Status Kill His Chances From The Start?

John Cannon's campaign was doomed from the start evidently because of the RINO status that the Republican's in Wicomico County had placed on him. He was never going to win over Somerset with the Phoebus and Otto voters and I wonder if this really was a last minute decision for John following the death of Page Elmore.

Everyone had assumed John was going to go for County Executive which he would have had a much greater chance of winning. I can say that John has worked with the Democrats in the past for good or bad so I can understand the feelings about him not holding the party line.

Is This The Year Of Stolen Campaign Signs?

Each day more reports are coming in of stolen Campaign signs out of people yards. This happens everywhere but it seems this year people have gotten very petty about it. I guess they think they will keep taking the signs and cost people enough money they will just give up. The signs being stolen the most are the ones people obviously feel threatened by since they are afraid someone is going to see all the support they are getting.

If you have campaign signs in your yard set up a camera and let's see if we can unmask some of these people that have decided to play this little game.

The talk of combining Washington High and Crisfield High into one central Somerset County High School are quietly creeping back to the surface with the tough economic times the Country is facing. How much money could be saved in this move? Would locals think differently about this with what is happening around them?

GA Harrison Driving On Suspended Out Of State License

Ok I know GA was also involved in an accident yesterday which brought me to this he is driving on a suspended Out Of State License? Is he living in the state at all and if he is why hasn't he taken the time to correct his license like every other person has to. If you are going to sit back and hold people to such high standards GA expect the same in return. Plus he has MD tags..something is wrong with this picture

2nd Vote For District 38B

I have been asked who I would recommend people using their 2nd vote for in the District 38B race and my answer is Gee Williams.

Gee is the current Mayor of Berlin and has turned that Town into a real jewel on the lower shore. As Mayor, Williams said he took the responsibility of re-shaping the priorities and the process of developing budgets for the Town of Berlin and through three successive budget cycles reduced the town’s total budget by $1.9 million from $14.3 million in Fiscal 2009 to $12.4 million for Fiscal 2011. While significantly reducing expenditures, during this same period the town has seen long needed infrastructure improvements, added an Economic Development office and developed a position that will coordinate and expand youth programs in Berlin. “Although we were faced with significant drops in revenue, our community has been able to make measurable progress in adding new businesses, upgrading or expanding services, and implementing new programs and initiatives in environmental stewardship, all without raising taxes,” Williams said.

Despite the loss of nine businesses since the meltdown on Wall Street in the fall of 2008, Berlin has added 24 new businesses to its downtown area for a net gain of 15 businesses that have either started or relocated in town. “Berlin’s rising economic prospects in these tough times are not a matter of chance,” Williams said. “This is a result of our strong belief that government must be a leader and take a shared responsibility for our economic, cultural and environmental health.”

Murder Suicide On Wicomico Street Friday Night Repost

As I reported Friday Evening another Murder sadly occurred in Salisbury over the weekend at the address above 516 Wicomico Street. Kenneth Lee Burke Jr.was found in the front yard with a gunshot wound to the chin and inside the deceased Taheerah Naimah Sabr pictured above was found shot to death in the kitchen. The sad part is the children of Sabr that are now without their Mother.


We may never know the reasoning behind such senseless actions but a fourth murder in a month span of time has Salisbury looking more like Philadelphia every day. Pray for the families involved in this tragedy.

GOP Headquarters Vandalism

I had forgotten to mention the vandalism at the GOP headquarters in the South Clairmont Shopping Center. I now see that someone fired a bullet which broke the glass and makes this very disturbing. I'm not really sure what "message"whoever did it was trying to send because it only has deepened the resolve of the people that work there.

I didn't think it was very bright however for Mark McIver to tell the world in the times they have a 100,000 phone system inside. That is only asking for someone to do this again but take stuff. This was a dangerous stunt to play and if you have any information on this please contact the SPD.
