Politics In Wicomico County

I honestly don't think there is another place like Wicomico County when it comes to nasty politics and smear campaigns. I thought last year was bad in the City, ha this stuff in July alone has topped that enormous BS. This County is at war within from many different groups , political affiliations, races, genders, you name it this place is a powder keg. Crime is out of control, jobs are nonexistent and now we have the grand ol game of politics 101 done Wicomico style...yee haaaa

Cannon Campaign Already Running Out Of Steam

John Cannon's hopes for a State Delegate seat seem to fading everyday. He didn't receive Bob Ehrlich's endorsement which went to his competitor John Phoebus, and seems to only have the support of Joe Albero and his whacked out handful of followers. I like John as a person but as a supposedly big name candidate I haven't heard anything about him, other than him hanging around and being supported by sbynews which anyone knows is a death for any campaign.

West Side Community Center Candidates for Freedom Forum

The Westside Community Center was the host of the Candidates for Freedom forum Saturday night. A nice cross section of candidates for various offices were on hand. Governor, County Council At Large, County Executive, County Council District 2 and House of Delegates. I thought it was a nice turnout considering how freaking hot it was and that the AC inside wasn't exactly keeping it cool.

I was able to talk with most of the people in attendance for a few minutes and was able to hear Mike Calpino address the crowd and let me tell you this guy can give a speech. I had to leave before all had spoken but I do look forward to hearing more from them in the near future.

Democratic HQ in Easton now

On Saturday, July 24, 2010 U.S. Rep. Frank Kratovil and Lt. Governer Anthony Brown were in Easton to cut the ribbon for the grand opening of the Democratic HQ located at 24 N. Harrison St.

The Democratic HQ will be open Monday through Friday from 11am to 5pm. After Labor Day, the fall hours will extended to Saturdays.
