Make Sure you check out all Candidate Information: John Phoebus Info Below

DECREASING TAXES
In these economic times, Annapolis shouldn’t balance the budget on the backs of hard-working Marylanders. Government can balance its budget the same way working families do – by doing more with less. John Phoebus will fight to repeal or even reduce the 20% sales tax increase passed by the liberal General Assembly and will fight to eliminate the corporate income tax that drives many businesses and jobs to neighboring states.

WORKING FOR WATERMEN AND FARMERS

When one looks at recent laws passed by the General Assembly, it appears that liberal lawmakers from the Western Shore have declared war on the working waterman and the family farmer. O’Malley has drastically reduced oystering on the Chesapeake Bay and there is every indication that, if left unchecked, crabbing is next.

Farmers have been under attack for years by special interest groups through runoff regulations and laws that enable anyone to sue a farmer. Throughout the years farmer have done their part to help clean up the Bay. Before any new regulations get placed on this important Delmarva industry, wastewater treatment plants on the western shore should do their part, as well. Keeping the Bay clean is the responsibility of many industries which affect it, not just the farmers.

Liberal lawmakers have thrown out the important legal concept that a person must have “standing” to sue, enabling anyone with an agenda, to bring suits. Farmers should not be hauled into court by special interest groups who mix politics with lawsuits.

REPRESENTING THE INTERESTS OF THE LOWER EASTERN SHORE

John Phoebus knows the issues that are important to the residents of the Lower Eastern Shore and agrees with the values of its citizens. Smaller government, lower taxes, and decreased regulations will all help working families keep more of each paycheck and help the businesses that create and maintain jobs to stay open. John Phoebus will be a strong, conservative voice in Annapolis for the citizens of District 38A.

Editor's Note: I still believe John is the best man for the job, so please don't let his doing Albero's show make you blind to his message.

Big Crowds In Crisfield

Mike Calpino For Wicomico County District 2

The last two years we have seen revenues drop in the county as a result of our current recession. Lower property values and reduced incomes have necessitated a reduction in the profligate spending of our county government. Our county and our state are not alone in dealing with these problems. These difficult times can either be an opportunity to reevaluate some of our core ideas about government or we can maintain the status quo and hope for the best. I think the latter has caused the problem and it is time to consider the former.

My candidacy is based on two things. The first, and most important, is what I would call a "Jeffersonian" political philosophy, a set of principles based on the philosophy and ideals of Thomas Jefferson and the other Founding Fathers. The principles of limited government, individual liberty, God given rights, and laissez faire economics. The second is a set of proposals to apply these principles to our county government.

We live in difficult times and to a large degree, much of what is happening is based on decisions made at the state and federal levels of government that are beyond our control at the county level. However, we can make decisions at the local level that affect our quality of life and will allow us to weather the current storm in more comfort and security than those who would stubbornly hang on to a governmental model that has resulted in excessive spending, corruption and failure in serving ‘we the people.’

Somerset County Sheriff's Department Needs Chief Webster

I saw in the paper yesterday and today regarding the Somerset County Commissioners meeting regarding the Sheriff's department and if you didn't think they needed a change after that meeting it is as clear as a bell. The Somerset County residents deserve 24/7 police protection which the Sheriff's department cannot provide at the current time. They also don't have computers in their patrol cars and I mean they are really behind the times.

I can guarantee you that Allan Webster can get this agency into modern times and provide a level of safety and modern police work that the area desperately needs. Please vote for the change needed, vote Allan Webster for Somerset County Sheriff.

Are You Allowed To Have Three Way Calls In Jail?

I have had someone ask me is it legal for someone to have a three way conversation if a prisoner calls from the prison phone. Example would be they call you and then you call someone else to join the conversation. The other part was they thought only landlines were approved for calls and not cell phones.

Are Drugs To Blame For The Recent Homicides?

With the recent 3 homicides in 24 hours the question starting to spread is was this drug related retaliation? Something is making the body count rise in Salisbury and I am wondering if a new drug war is breaking out in Salisbury.
